Welcome to the School of Pharmacy

Welcome to the School of Pharmacy!

The University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy is the first new pharmacy school in Canada in over 20 years.  Benefiting from a unique partnership with the City of Kitchener, the program is housed in a state-of-the-art education and research building on the Health Sciences Campus.  The pharmacy building with its distinctive curtained walls depicting images of medicinal plants was the recipient of the 2011 Design Excellence Award from the Ontario Association of Architects and is one of the most recognizable buildings in downtown Kitchener.

The School of Pharmacy offers an undergraduate pharmacy program designed to provide student pharmacists with the expertise needed to serve as medication therapy experts in the Canadian health care system.  The University of Waterloo is a world-leader in co-operative education and we take advantage of this strength to provide students with extensive real-world experience in a variety of settings.  The Baccalaureate in Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo has been awarded the status of Provisional Accreditation by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs for the three year term 2009-2012.

We also offer a growing graduate program in the pharmaceutical, social, administrative and clinical sciences.  Graduate students benefit from the mentorship of faculty members engaged in cutting-edge research and will be prepared to assume advanced positions in academia, industry and health care.

We are proud of our accomplishments to date and look forward to fulfilling a commitment to “pushing the frontiers of discovery in order to improve human health and well-being”.   Whether you are a student, pharmacist, health care professional or a member of the community, the School of Pharmacy at University of Waterloo has something to offer.  We invite you to explore the opportunities that are available at the School and encourage you to contact us for further information.
